Benefits of Window Blinds in Children’s Rooms
When decorating a child’s room, parents tend to look for window treatments that are both practical and adjustable while still offering privacy and safety. Not only do window blinds to that, they also look beautiful in children’s rooms too.
Blinds can be adjusted to allow just the right amount of light in or to block it out for an afternoon nap. If you already have pretty curtains in the room but are looking for a way to block the sunlight, consider fitting block out roller blinds as well. Wooden Venetian blinds with curtains make for a very attractive effect that allows you to adjust the amount of light entering the room.
In smaller bedrooms, hanging curtains may well make the room appear even more cramped. Using blinds as the only window treatment in the room will make it appear larger.
Blinds are available in a wide variety of styles and colours to suit any window. Choose vertical blinds in colours that fit the colour scheme of the bedroom. Imagine blues or greens in a boy’s room that would suit any theme from pirates to cowboys. Of course, little girls tend to choose more pastel colours.
You could also choose to have Roman blinds custom made in a fabric to fit the theme of the bedroom. First ensure that the fabric can be cleaned easily though.
When having blinds installed on the windows, make sure that the blind strings are kept out of reach of children. While the blinds should be fitted within reach so that they can easily be adjusted, let your children know not to pull on them with force. In baby’s room, make sure the cot is well out of reach of the window.
Whatever style of blinds you choose for your child’s room, you can rest assured that it will protect other brightly coloured furniture in the room from sun damage while still looking attractive and adding to the beauty of the room.
